এই গ্রন্থে প্রতুল মুখোপাধ্যায়ের সব গানগুলির কথা ও রচনাকাল রাখা হয়েছে। এই গ্রন্থে মোট ২৬১ টি গান সংকলিত হয়েছে। প্রতুল মুখোপাধ্যায়ের নিজের কথা ও সুরে রয়েছে ১০৩ টি গান এবং দেশীয় ও আন্তর্দেশীয় ৬৭ জন কবির কবিতা যেগুলির প্রয়োজনভিত্তিক গীতিরূপান্তর ঘটিয়ে সুর দিয়েছেন। এর জন্য অনেক কবির-ই একাধিক কবিতার সুর প্রয়োগ করেছেন যেমন বীরেন্দ্র চট্টোপাধ্যায়ের ২৯ টি কবিতা, শঙ্খ ঘোষের ১০টি কবিতা, সুভাষ মুখোপাধ্যায়ের ৩টি কবিতা ইত্যাদি।
