কবি সব্যসাচী দেবের নিজের কথায় –”স্লোগান নয়,কোনো উচ্চকিত দাবি বা ঘোষণাও নয়, যা লিখতে চেয়েছি তা কখনো সরাসরি প্রতিবাদ হয়তো তবে আরো বেশি অসম্মতির আর প্রত্যাখ্যানের। রাষ্ট্র, সমাজ, ধর্ম, পিতৃতন্ত্র, পরিবার তন্ত্র, সংস্কার প্রথা এমন কি নিজের ভিতরে ঘাপটি মেরে থাকা অহংকার আর আত্মাভিমান, যা কিছু শিকল পরাতে চায়, পাঁচিল তুলতে চায় চারপাশে, তাতেই অসম্মতি, তাকেই প্রত্যাখ্যান।”
তাই ১৭টি কবিতার বই, ১০টি প্রবন্ধের বই, একটি অনুবাদ নাটক ও কিশোর পাঠ্য জীবনী গ্রন্থ হো চি মিন– এর রচয়িতা কবি, প্রাবন্ধিক, গণআন্দোলন কর্মী, অধ্যাপক সব্যসাচী দেব – এই কাব্যগ্রন্থে পাঠকের কাছে এক অন্য মাত্রায় ধরা দেবেন একথা বলাই যায়।
